Vertical jig for spring walleye on a Detroit River charter
6 Hours
1-3 people
Rods, bait, catch cleaning
Fish the Detroit River during the spring spawn with a target-specific walleye vertical jigging trip. Meet at Grayhaven State Harbor and let the crew help you get set up and on the bite.
Fishing licenses are required; you’ll be told the day before whether to buy Ontario (18+) or Michigan (17+). Do not buy earlier in case the trip is rescheduled due to weather. Perch can be filleted upon request and extra cost may apply; gratuities are not included.
Deposits are non-refundable. No-shows will be charged the full price.
Yes. Buy a 1-day fishing license online, but only purchase it the day before your trip. You’ll be told the day before whether to buy an Ontario license (required for everyone 18+ when fishing Ontario waters) or a Michigan license (required for everyone 17+ when fishing Michigan waters).
Wear proper clothing for the day (hat, jacket, sweatshirt) and bring rain gear. For footwear, use boat shoes, tennis shoes, or water shoes. Avoid flip-flops, work boots, and black-soled shoes.
Bring sunglasses, sunblock, food/snacks, drinks/water, any daily medications, and motion-sickness pills if needed (such as Dramamine). You can also bring a camera.
