2-Hour Schooner Sail in Port Jefferson

Step aboard the Liberty Clipper for views of Port Jefferson and Long Island Sound from the deck of a traditionally rigged schooner. Relax under sail or join the crew for a hands-on taste of tall-ship sailing.

Itinerary

1. Boarding begins 10 minutes prior to departure
2. Safety orientation before leaving the dock
3. Underway using engine power
4. Point the ship into the wind as we set sail (guests may participate)
5. Shut off the engine and let the wind be our guide as we point out the main points of interest and answer questions about the area and the ship
6. Incredible photo opportunities throughout the sail. Let us be your personal photographers for photos at the ships wheel.
7. Keep a lookout for marine life and birds.
8. Lower sails and motoring in gives all a sense of returning from a true sailing experience with new stories and new friends.

Important details

• Check in 10 minutes before departure; arrive 30 minutes early if driving to allow time for parking and the dock walk
• Children must be accompanied by an adult
• Wheelchair access is unavailable; wheelchairs must remain on the dock or be stowed onboard
• Expect sailing in misty, foggy, or rainy conditions when the captain considers it safe; dangerous weather prevents sailing
• Dress for cooler conditions on the water and bring a jacket or sweatshirt
• All drinks consumed onboard must be served by the crew from the cash bar and are not included in the listed price
