14 The Grn, Woodstock, VT 05091, United States
The property consistently wins over guests with its quintessential New England charm and beautiful setting in the heart of Woodstock. Many visitors rave about the luxurious suites, particularly in the Tavern wing, along with exceptionally comfortable beds that deliver some of the best sleep travelers have had in ages. The spa facilities earn high marks, and staff members like Jake the concierge and Francis at the front desk frequently get called out for their helpfulness and genuine hospitality. That said, a few patterns emerge around inconsistencies. Some guests have encountered housekeeping issues, from delayed room cleaning to maintenance concerns that feel out of step with the premium positioning. The Red Rooster Restaurant draws mixed feedback, with some disappointed by limited menu options and service that doesn't quite match the Inn's overall atmosphere, though Richardson's Tavern gets much stronger reviews. A handful of visitors also noted hearing staff complaints about being busy, which dampened the upscale experience they expected. Most guests still describe their stays as magical and worth returning for, especially those seeking a romantic New England getaway. The location offers easy access to charming Woodstock plus plenty of nearby activities. Just set realistic expectations about potential service variability, and you'll likely join the many satisfied visitors already planning their return trips.
Grabbed a couple days of R&R at the Woodstock Inn at the end of March. Shoulder season is a little quieter, which was perfect for us. We've stayed here before and this stay was just as wonderful. Great location for hiking trails and walks around town. Access to the athletic facility is a big perk. As always, all the staff were fantastic.
