Di Modica spent two years and roughly $360,000 of his own money casting the bull in his SoHo studio. The sculpture stands eleven feet tall and stretches sixteen feet long, its surface worn to a burnished gleam by decades of admiring hands. The surrounding Financial District adds vivid context, placing the work amid the towers and trading floors it was always meant to address.
