This shop has clearly built a stellar reputation on incredibly friendly, helpful service and quality equipment. Staff members like Al, Carter, Mark, and Andrea consistently go above and beyond, offering detailed route suggestions, thorough bike tutorials, and even helping customers with assembly and adjustments on bikes purchased elsewhere. Multiple reviewers mention how accommodating and professional everyone is, creating an easygoing rental experience from reservation through return. The e-bikes themselves get rave reviews for their condition and battery life. Several riders made the journey from Redondo Beach to Santa Monica Pier, Venice Beach, or Marina del Rey without draining the batteries, and even converts who weren't previously cycling fans found the experience transformative. The location right at King Harbor pier makes it convenient to hit The Strand and explore the South Bay coastline. Travelers appreciate the competitive pricing and simple reservation system, with many saying they'll definitely return on future visits.
Some of our friends told us that riding a bike from Redondo Beach to Manhattan Beach was a lot of fun, so we gotta give it a try! We checked both Google and another platform and decided to rent our bikes from Beach E-Bikes. They are located on the upper level of Redondo Beach Pier. There were a couple of customers there when we arrived. Al asked us to fill out the waiver form online, and the process was fast and easy. Oh, and once you fill it out, you don't have to do it again next time you come back to rent a bike. Nice! After we finished everything, we followed Al outside to get our bikes. He explained everything clearly and was super friendly. This was actually my first time riding an e-bike. I struggled a little in the beginning, but after a while, I got used to it and everything went smoothly. The ride was SO nice! We rode from Redondo Beach to Hermosa Beach and then all the way to Manhattan Beach. The breeze, the ocean views, and the bike path not being too crowded made the whole experience even better. We stopped at Hermosa Beach for some ice cream, then continued to Manhattan Beach Pier and checked out the free aquarium. So much fun!! We rented the bikes for two hours and were actually able to do everything within that time. But next time, we will probably rent them for four hours so we can take our time, chill, and maybe grab a bite at Hermosa Beach. Al also told us not to stress too much about the time. Even if we go over the two hours, we can easily extend the rental when we return. No hassle, no rushing, no stress! We went on a Thursday, so I'm pretty sure it gets busier on the weekends. We all had such a great time! Definitely one of the highlights of our Redondo Beach trip. We will for sure come back to Beach E-Bikes again. Next time, four hours! More riding, more food, more chilling! And of course, we'll say hi to Al!
