Beach E Biking shop is located on the top level of the Redondo Beach Pier parking structure, above the beach bike path. Park in any of the pier parking lots and walk to the top level of the structure. The shop is at the top of the main brick staircase where Torrance Blvd meets the Redondo Landing.
The Redondo Beach Pier sits at the southern end of the Marvin Braude Coastal Bike Trail, the 22-mile paved path that runs along the sand from Torrance Beach north to Pacific Palisades. It is one of the most scenic and accessible bike routes in Los Angeles, flat the entire way, with ocean views for nearly every mile. What makes this e-bike rental a particularly good way to ride it is the starting point. The shop is located on the top level of the Redondo Beach Pier parking structure, directly above the bike path, which means you are pedaling along the coast within minutes of picking up the bike. And with a battery range of up to 50 miles, a round trip to Santa Monica and back (roughly 32 miles) is well within reach on a single charge.
The Redondo Beach Pier and King Harbor give you something to explore before or after the ride. The pier, originally built in 1889 as a shipping wharf, has been rebuilt multiple times and now holds restaurants, shops, a Fun Factory arcade, and fish markets along the International Boardwalk. King Harbor at the pier's base is where you will find sea lions, kayak and paddleboard rentals, sunset cruises, and the glass bottom boat. Many riders spend time at the pier before their rental, ride north along the coast, and return to the Redondo Beach Pier area for dinner and a walk along the boardwalk to close out the day.
This rental is a strong fit for visitors who want to see multiple South Bay beach towns in a single outing without driving or parking, couples or families looking for a shared activity that covers ground without heavy exertion, fitness-minded riders who want to extend their range beyond what a standard bike allows, and anyone staying near the Redondo Beach Pier who wants to explore the coastline north toward Santa Monica at their own pace. The pedal assist makes the ride accessible to all fitness levels, and the four-hour window gives you time to stop, explore, eat, and still make it back comfortably.
This shop has clearly built a stellar reputation on incredibly friendly, helpful service and quality equipment. Staff members like Al, Carter, Mark, and Andrea consistently go above and beyond, offering detailed route suggestions, thorough bike tutorials, and even helping customers with assembly and adjustments on bikes purchased elsewhere. Multiple reviewers mention how accommodating and professional everyone is, creating an easygoing rental experience from reservation through return. The e-bikes themselves get rave reviews for their condition and battery life. Several riders made the journey from Redondo Beach to Santa Monica Pier, Venice Beach, or Marina del Rey without draining the batteries, and even converts who weren't previously cycling fans found the experience transformative. The location right at King Harbor pier makes it convenient to hit The Strand and explore the South Bay coastline. Travelers appreciate the competitive pricing and simple reservation system, with many saying they'll definitely return on future visits.

Very highly recommended if you want to see the fantastic shore lines of LA all the way to Venice beach, with a cool LA breeze through your hair. Our host was fantastic.
