Perched on the Potomac at the foot of Georgetown’s historic Key Bridge, Key Bridge Boathouse is an easy escape from city buzz into river calm. Backed by Adventures Unbound’s century-long hospitality heritage, its cheerful crew pai...
This Georgetown location offers a laid-back, self-service kayaking and canoeing experience that regulars seem to genuinely love. The staff gets consistent praise for being friendly and helpful, and the operation is refreshingly straightforward: book online, sign your waiver once per season, grab your gear, and you're on the water. Most people appreciate how affordable and efficient the whole process is, with minimal fuss getting you out to paddle. The setting is the real draw here. Head north for peaceful nature views and wildlife spotting around Three Sisters Rocks, or paddle south for stunning DC cityscape vistas. Many reviewers mention bringing coolers for picnic lunches during their rentals. The fleet includes kayaks, canoes, and paddleboards to suit different preferences. Be aware that this is a no-frills operation where you're pretty much on your own once you launch, which works great for confident paddlers but might feel less supportive for complete beginners. Double-check hours before heading out, as closing times can be earlier than expected, and online booking is required even for walk-ups.
Fun time and great tour! We did the 90 minute monuments tour and it was a really great time. We live in D.C. but just enjoyed seeing everything from a new perspective. The rates are reasonable and the location is superb. Our tour guide was really nice too. Note, they aren’t allowed to take tips. They serve food and beer there, but we didn’t order anything. There are porta potties and lockers too.
