Nestled just outside historic Cape May, Jersey Shore Alpacas is a family-run haven where beach adventures meet barnyard charm. Owners Jim and Tish have spent nearly two decades lovingly raising their herd, and it shows in every ge...
This family-run operation has clearly won hearts with its well-cared-for alpacas and knowledgeable hosts. Jim and Tish lead the tours with genuine passion, patiently introducing visitors to each alpaca's unique personality and backstory while providing bags of carrots for feeding. Guests consistently praise how informative the experience is, noting the owners' flexibility with booking changes and their ability to adjust tours for families with young children. The alpacas themselves get rave reviews for being soft, charming, and interactive. The gift shop deserves special mention, stocked with high-quality alpaca products including blankets, clothes, and scarves that visitors love taking home. Tours typically last about an hour and make an excellent alternative to beach activities in the Cape May and Wildwood area. Multiple families mention returning for repeat visits, which speaks volumes about the experience. Whether you're six years old or bringing the whole extended family, this seems to be one of those rare attractions that delivers on its stellar reputation.
I had an absolutely wonderful time. I actually went solo and Tish was my personal guide. To my surprise I was given carrots to feed their alpacas! This was totally awesome and made the trip even better. I was introduced to most of the alpacas one-on-one since I was by myself; even got a few little pets in! Tish gave me a pretty cool little education on alpacas and it was just an awesome experience. The sweet little shop at the end was the cherry on top. Of course I had to get myself a Maybeline replica- I absolutely love it. Even got some wonderful yarn. Do yourself a favor and go. It was a great time, the alpacas were super cute, and Tish was wonderful!
