This family-run operation has riders raving about the genuinely warm hospitality and thoughtful attention to detail. Jenny, Skye, Carly, Laurie, and the rest of the team consistently earn praise for being knowledgeable, patient, and incredibly accommodating. First-timers feel completely at ease, and the staff shows real skill in matching horses to riders' experience levels. The horses themselves are rescues who are clearly well-loved and impeccably trained, creating a safe and enjoyable experience even for anxious beginners. The scenic mountain trails offer gorgeous views that change beautifully with the seasons, and guides share fascinating details about local history and the horses' individual stories. Reviewers consistently mention how well-behaved the mounts are and how the whole operation feels authentic and welcoming. One heads-up: the unpaved road leading up to the stables can be a bit rough, so budget extra travel time. Expect a rustic, genuine mountain experience complete with Mosie, the photogenic potbelly pig who greets visitors.
We had a great experience at Old Stage Riding Stables. Laurie and the team were amazing, knowledgable, and kind! The views on the trail were so beautiful, and it's quite a view being higher up the mountain. We loved learning about the family history and how the horses were rescues; they are very well taken care of and loved. We would 1000% come back again!!
