Take in the beautiful views of the Pocono Mountains and the calmness of the Delaware River while you float through this scenic national recreation area.
You’ll pass many beautiful spots during your river trip, including the ‘jumping rock’ on the righthand (Pennsylvania) side of the river. You’ll also pass Sambo Island and Poxano Island during your Poconos canoeing or kayaking trip.
Take in the natural beauty that surrounds you as you enjoy a peaceful float all the way to Smithfield Beach, where a grassy beach, picnic area, and swimming spots await you. You might see bald eagles, deer, bears, and other local wildlife along the river banks.
Cancel without penalty at least 48 hours before your trip, or on the day of your trip due to severe weather at the operator's location. Trips run rain or shine. Cancellations within 48 hours but before your trip cost $25 per person. No-shows and cancellations after your trip time are charged the full price.

After office check-in, drive yourself to Smithfield Beach and park there for your river trip. You'll receive parking directions at check-in; road closures may change the parking location. The park entrance fee is $10 per vehicle per day, not included in the listed price. Bring a credit or debit card for a staffed fee booth and $10 in exact cash if it is unstaffed.
Yes. The trip may close when temperatures are low and rain is forecast for most of the day because of hypothermia concerns. Many river sections are remote, which can delay assistance.
Dress in layers for fall weather. Bring a towel and dry clothes, plus protective rain gear if rain is expected. Keep a way to dry off if you get wet. Dry bags are available to rent for storing your towel and clothes.
