The guides here really make the experience. Austin, Ethan, Gill, Nick, and Miles all get enthusiastic shoutouts for being knowledgeable, friendly, and genuinely passionate about Seattle. The sunset kayak tour on Elliott Bay consistently wins people over with stunning views of Mt. Rainier, the downtown skyline, and occasional wildlife sightings like seals, herons, and sea lions. Even when weather doesn't cooperate, guides keep spirits high and share interesting local history throughout the paddle. Beyond guided tours, the rental operation runs smoothly whether you're grabbing kayaks, paddleboards, or bikes to explore the Alki coastline on your own. Staff members like Noah earn praise for staying calm and helpful even during hectic summer rushes. First-timers feel especially well-supported with patient instruction before heading out. The rescue and recovery class comes highly recommended if you're planning more ambitious trips. The vibe is consistently described as chill and welcoming, with friendly staff who make the whole experience feel effortless from check-in to return.
Amazing experience, the Sunset Sea Kayak tour is definitely one of the best things you could do in Seattle. We were in a small group guided by Ethan (who was absolutely gorgeous by the way), enjoyed pearl-coloured waters of Elliot bay, glorious views of Mt. Rainier, downtown Seattle skyline, and were lucky enough to see some wildlife — a beautiful heron, a cute seal, some jumpy fish, even two sea lions fighting each other! The pictures will speak for themselves, would love to do it again someday.
