Important details
- The primary renter must be 18 or older, and at least one person age 18+ must remain aboard at all times
- The designated operator needs enough sailing experience to operate the boat safely. Only operators approved by staff may sail the boat after completing the required boat and safety checkout
- Bring the valid photo ID associated with your reservation. Anyone operating the sailboat must carry valid ID
- Bring the physical credit card associated with your reservation for the rental process. Each boat requires an ID and credit card
- You may be responsible for separate charges for damage, lost equipment, unsafe operation, rule violations or excessive cleaning. These charges are not included in the listed price
- Complete all required rental agreements and waivers before departure. The primary renter and designated operator must be present at check-in
- Keep children under adult supervision
- Stay within the approved Mission Bay sailing area. Ocean sailing is not permitted. Keep clear of swimming areas, shallow zones, beaches and restricted waterways; do not beach the boat or tie it to an unauthorized dock
- Rentals depend on equipment availability and safe wind, weather, water and visibility conditions. Staff may delay, modify or shorten your rental for safety
- Arrive 15 minutes early with your full group for check-in and the required boat and safety checkout. Late arrivals may reduce your time on the water, and the scheduled end time may not be extended
Cancellation Policy
Cancel at least 72 hours in advance for a full refund. You'll also receive a full refund if the operator cancels due to weather or other unforeseen circumstances. Refunds take up to 30 days to process. No-shows and same-day cancellations are charged the full price.

No. Your sailboat rental does not include a captain or sailing instructor. The required boat and safety checkout is not a formal sailing lesson.
Parking near 1010 Santa Clara Place can fill quickly, especially on weekends and holidays. Allow extra time to find a space. Additional parking may be available in the overflow lot along Santa Clara Place or near El Carmel Point.
