- Operators born after January 1, 1988 require a Florida boating safety course certificate unless they hold a valid boating license
- Without a captain, the operator requires basic boating experience and at least 2 years operating similar-size vessels
- Without a captain, the operator must have no marine losses in the past 10 years, no violations or suspensions in the past 5 years, and no criminal convictions or no-contest pleas
- A captain is required if your group has no qualified operator
- A $1,000 security-deposit hold is required at check-in and released 48 hours after the rental ends if no damage occurs
