Captain Gordie and his first mate Rip (yes, the dog is part of the crew and apparently beloved) run a tight offshore operation out of Naples that consistently delivers. Grouper, snapper, amberjack, cobia, the catches here tend to be real and plentiful. Gordie gets regular praise for being patient and attentive with beginners while still keeping experienced anglers engaged, and the boat itself is described as clean, well-equipped, and professionally run. Fish cleaning is included, which is a nice touch after a long day on the water. One thing worth knowing: this is primarily an offshore charter. One reviewer had a frustrating experience when weather pushed them inshore, noting that Gordie seemed less confident in that environment. If conditions look rough on your trip date and going offshore isn't an option, it may be worth a conversation before heading out. For anyone with an offshore trip planned though, the track record here is genuinely impressive, with many guests booking return trips season after season.
Captain Gordy and his first mate Rip. Took us on an amazing off shore trip! We caught more than enough for dinner. Then we turned towards “fun” fish. Couldn’t recommend lucky strike more. They have changed what my opinion on what a fishing charter should be.
