    • Discover Queenstown's mining heritage for a glimpse of Tasmania's pioneer history

    Itinerary

Departures run on Tuesdays and Sundays.

    1. Day 1: Hobart to Strahan, 07:00. Journey into the Western Wilds, visiting Mount Field National Park and Russell Falls, then experience Lake St Clair and the World Heritage Area’s rainforests as you travel through Franklin-Gordon National Park. Stop briefly in Queenstown before reaching Strahan on Macquarie Harbour, where your guide knows places to look for platypuses; stay overnight in Strahan.
    2. Day 2: Wild West Coast. Hike through the Tarkine Rainforest to Montezuma Falls and explore Henty Sand Dunes, or choose the optional Gordon River Cruise, which costs extra and is not included in the listed price. Later, explore Ocean Beach before returning to Strahan for another overnight stay.
    3. Day 3: Cradle Mountain to Launceston. Explore Cradle Mountain National Park, choosing between the climb to Marion’s Lookout and a walk around Dove Lake, with a chance to see wombats at Ronny Creek. Visit Sheffield, the Town of Murals, before continuing to Launceston for the night.
    4. Day 4: Launceston to Bicheno. Explore Cataract Gorge, then drive to the East Coast to enjoy its beaches and the coastal scenery at the Bay of Fires. Continue to Bicheno for the night, with an optional guided little penguin tour in the evening; this tour costs extra and is not included in the listed price.
    5. Day 5: Freycinet National Park to Hobart. Start early for Wineglass Bay Lookout, then relax on the beach, take a beach walk or choose the more challenging Mount Amos climb. Take in the views from the Cape Tourville lighthouse before following the Great Eastern Drive back to Hobart.

The schedule may change depending on traffic and weather conditions.
