If you're looking to dive deep into Louisiana's culinary culture, this experience delivers on all fronts. Travelers consistently rave about the knowledgeable guides, particularly Jay and Marie, who bring infectious enthusiasm and detailed historical context to every stop. The tour visits around five local restaurants, serving up authentic dishes like boudin, po'boys, gumbo, and gator bites, with a sweet finish at a local bakery. The comfortable bus keeps groups well-supplied with water and even provides a cooler if you want to save treats for later. What really stands out is how accommodating the guides are with dietary restrictions and allergies, making modifications so everyone can enjoy the experience fully. Multiple reviewers mention this is their favorite tour ever, highlighting the perfect blend of delicious food, local history, and engaging storytelling. The restaurants visited are genuine local spots that guests plan to return to on their own. It's clearly more than just a food sampling trip; it's an immersive introduction to Lafayette and Cajun country that leaves visitors feeling like family by the end.
What a great experience, especially if you're not familiar with southern Louisiana. Not only do you get to sample the areas delectable cuisine, but you also learn some history of Lafayette! Our guide, Jay, was very hospitable, friendly, knowledgeable, and accommodating. I have a gluten intolerance, so they made some changes for me so that I could enjoy the trip just as much as everyone else. The bus is cozy and spacious. We were supplied with bottles of water and a koozie for our drinks. They also provide a cooler should you want to purchase anything from the stops. We got to sample the tastiest boudain at Johnsons Boucaniere, famous po'boy from Olde Tyme Grocery, the best gumbo at Bon Temps Grill, the juiciest gator bites and Crawfish nachos from The Cajun Table, followed by the sweetest king cake, pistachio cake for me, at Poupart Bakery. Absolutely a grand adventure! We'll definitely be returning to all of the businesses to taste more from the menu's.
