Lone Star Ranch delivers consistently warm Texas hospitality from start to finish. Owner Tina gets frequent shoutouts for making guests feel genuinely welcomed, while guides like Ariel, Savannah, and Jessica earn praise for being patient, knowledgeable, and skilled at matching horses to riders of all experience levels. The concierge staff sets a positive tone right from booking, creating an experience that feels personal rather than commercial. The horses here are clearly well-cared-for with gentle temperaments perfect for beginners, though experienced riders also appreciate the thoughtful matchmaking. The trails wind through scenic mesquite woodlands and creeks, offering peaceful rides that balance natural beauty with safety. Groups celebrating special occasions seem especially thrilled, and the ranch handles everything from nervous first-timers to bachelorette parties with equal professionalism. Beyond horseback riding, activities like archery and knife throwing add variety. The property itself is beautiful and well-maintained, contributing to that authentic ranch atmosphere people are seeking when they visit Austin.

We signed up for horseback riding + trap shooting during our time at Lone Star Ranch, and it was definitely a really fun experience. Horseback riding our guide Savannah did an awesome job keeping everyone safe in guiding us through the river, and up & down some hills, thank you! For trap shooting our instructor was Chris, would highly recommend. He was super informative and showed us how to properly hold the shotgun and gave us pointers to how to accurately shoot the clay. He then took us over to show us the longhorns and gave us a quick tour of the facilities. Thanks Chris! We would definitely recommend you check out Lone Star Ranch, they have so many activities you can sign up for and are all super friendly and welcoming!
