3.5 to 4 hours
Up to 4 people
Roundtrip flight,Photo guide
Take a helicopter into the Alaska Range and spend time on a remote ridgeline with a photography guide focused on landscape vistas. You’ll have time to explore tundra terrain and get personalized photo instruction in a small group.
This tour has a 2-person minimum to operate; single-passenger bookings may be canceled if no other guests book at least 3 days in advance. Expect uneven tundra with no trails, limited places to sit, and potentially challenging helicopter entry and exit. A 20% refundable deposit is required at booking, and the balance is processed 3 days before the tour.
Cancel up to 3 days (72 hours) in advance for a full refund. Less than 3 days (72 hours): no refund. Reschedule up to 12 hours in advance based on availability. Changes made with less than 3 days (72 hours) notice have a 20% change fee. Full refund if the operator cancels due to weather and you cannot reschedule.
Bring an extra layer and a raincoat, since weather can change quickly. Wear comfortable, sturdy, supportive shoes for walking on uneven tundra with no trails. Bring your camera gear (camera, lenses, extra battery), plus a reusable water bottle and your own snacks.
Expect a moderate activity level on uneven tundra with no trails. You may not find comfortable places to sit during the excursion, and getting in and out of the helicopter can be challenging.
Plan to use the bathroom before you go. The only bathrooms available are at the helicopter landing pad.

Ryan Kessler was our guide for our Photography class excursion. He shared his portfolio with us of his past months worth of photos with other clients just like us. Once we got to our first of several photos stops, Ryan assisted us with adjustments to our iPhones camera settings. From there we started learning multiple aspects about what and how perspectives can change what you see and what you can show others through your lens!
