Captain Ron is clearly the heart of this experience, and the reviews reflect it. He's consistently praised for his deep knowledge of Caddo Lake, covering everything from local history and wildlife to the plants, birds, and insects you'll encounter along the way. The pontoon boat is comfortable with shaded seating, and tours run about 1.5 hours. Booking online is straightforward, and the staff are welcoming from check-in onward. One thing worth noting: a rare complaint surfaced about a last-minute cancellation, with the reviewer questioning the reason given. That said, it stands out as an isolated experience against an otherwise overwhelmingly positive track record. For the best atmosphere on the water, weekday tours tend to offer a quieter, more peaceful ride with less boat traffic on the lake.
Captain Ron and Lady Jean are providing an outstanding service. I went on a moonlight tour but I also got to see the sunset. It was an absolutely magical time on the Caddo Lae. I learned so much too. Especially about mosquitoes, there aren't any on the river thanks to the cypress trees. I highly recommend booking with these guys.
