Richmond's food tours have built a seriously impressive reputation, and it's easy to see why. Guides like Taylor, Jeremy, and Lindsey consistently earn praise for their enthusiasm, deep local knowledge, and ability to weave Richmond history into every stop. The Church Hill and Scotts Addition tours seem to be particular favorites, with guests regularly discovering neighborhood gems and restaurants they never would have found on their own. The food itself is a genuine highlight, with plenty to eat across multiple stops. One reviewer did note that a pastry shop substituted a croissant for leftover lemon pie when they ran short, which fell a bit flat for their group, so it's worth keeping in mind that individual stops can vary. That said, one minor hiccup in an otherwise glowing record across hundreds of reviews says a lot about the consistency here. For locals and visitors alike, these tours offer a fun, walkable way to explore Richmond's culinary scene. The roughly 1.5-mile strolls are manageable for most people, with plenty of rest stops along the way. If you want to get to know a Richmond neighborhood through great food and genuinely engaging storytelling, this is a solid way to spend an afternoon.
We did the Churchill Food Tour. There were 11 of us celebrating my husbands birthday. Maddie was our guide. It was a wonderful day! Even though we live just 20 minutes from Churchill we had not been to any of the 5 food spots. The food was amazing, Maddie was a wonderful guide even adding some special touches for the birthday boy!! She was fun, and knowledgeable about the area and the history. She didn’t just point out things but gave us stories and fun facts. She fit right in with our group! We decided after the tour that we were going to do a dinner club so we could return to some other spots she pointed out on our tour! Overall a great tour and would absolutely recommend!
