50 minutes
Cat lounge access
Book a 50-minute session and relax in a room full of free-roaming cats at Seattle Meowtropolitan. Cats may be sleepy depending on the time of day.
Ages 6+ only, with one adult required for every two kids; entry is denied if your group has too few adults. Friday–Sunday 6pm and 7pm sessions are adults-only (18+).
Cancel at least 24 hours before your booking time for a refund. After that, you can reschedule up to 2 hours before your original booking time. No exceptions.
Reserve ahead if you can. Walk-in spots may be available for each session, but space is limited and walk-ins are first-come, first-served.
If the system won’t let you add more people, that session is full for online reservations. Pick a different session with more space; walk-in spots (if any) are limited.
Bring kids ages 6+ with adult supervision: you need one adult for every two kids in the cat lounge, or you will be denied entry. Friday–Sunday 6pm and 7pm sessions are adults-only (18+).
Seattle Meowtropolitan, Seattle, WA
This Seattle cat cafe earns high marks for its warm, welcoming atmosphere and genuinely affectionate cats. Staff consistently come through with helpful guidance and a friendly attitude, and the cafe side holds its own with quality drinks like lattes, cappuccinos, and chai. The cats themselves are clearly well cared for, with a spacious, enriched environment that gives them room to roam, climb, and socialize on their own terms. One thing worth knowing before you book: cats tend to be sleepier in the afternoon, so morning slots, especially around 11am when the cat lounge opens, tend to offer more active and playful interactions. A few visitors who booked afternoon sessions found the cats mostly napping and wished they'd been tipped off beforehand. Planning your visit with that in mind will make a real difference. Walk-ins are sometimes available on quieter days, though reservations are the safer bet for weekends or popular hours. Several cats have their own personalities that regulars and first-timers alike have fallen for, with names like Waffle, Pancake, and Sophia popping up in glowing terms. For anyone missing their own pets while traveling or just looking for a cozy, unique stop in Seattle, this place genuinely delivers.
The coffee was great for my tastes, I had a latte with brown sugar and cinnamon syrup that the barista recommended to me. The cafe opens at 10 but time with the cats start at 11. I was able to purchase a walk-in slot with the cats, probably because I went there on a rainy Wednesday morning. They do reservations online which may be necessary for busier days and hours. The slots are worth $20 an hour and $10 for 25 minutes. The cats were very playful and friendly, and I was able to pet most of them. I have cats at home which probably helped with how I could recognize if they wanted to be pet or wouldn't be bothered by it. Two of them in particular actually walked with me as I entered the cat area and wanted me to notice them (I think it was Pancake [the orange cat] and Waffle [the gray and white cat]). If I ever return to Seattle, I'll be sure to stop by again :)
