Join the annual Chincoteague Pony Swim from a private boat or jet ski rental. Spend approximately three hours on the water as the ponies cross from Assateague Island to Chincoteague.

Know before you go

• Arrive at least 45 minutes before departure; exact event timing depends on the official Pony Swim schedule
• Complete the required waiver before arrival
• All participants must be present at check-in and sign the boat check sheet before departure
• Operators must be at least 18, present a valid driver's license, and have a basic understanding of English
• Operators must meet Virginia boating-safety education requirements; a brief safety course is available upon arrival if needed
• Operators must be sober; anyone visibly intoxicated will be refused rental service
• Keep all boats within Chincoteague Bay
