Paddle Clear Creek’s Class IV–V rapids on an advanced ½-day guided trip
1/2 day (~ 3 hours total)
Guide, gear, wetsuits
Take on Clear Creek Canyon with a guide on an advanced whitewater run built for experienced paddlers. You’ll hit continuous Class IV–V rapids with very little warm-up on a steep, technical stretch of river.
This trip is for experienced paddlers only and requires strong physical conditioning and the ability to swim. Minimum age is typically 16 (may vary with water flows; under 18 must be accompanied by a legal guardian). Splash jackets and booties are available for an additional rental fee; gratuity is not included (15–20% is typical).
Cancel more than 48 hours before start for a refund minus a 10% admin fee. Reschedule more than 48 hours before start for a 10% admin fee. No-shows are charged full price. Full refund if the operator cancels due to unsafe conditions and rescheduling isn’t possible.
Plan on an advanced run: you need prior rafting experience, strong physical conditioning, and the ability to swim. Guides also reserve the right to refuse participation at their discretion.
Arrive 30 minutes before the trip start time so you have time for a safety talk and gear check.
Every participant must sign a liability waiver. If you’re under 18, a parent or guardian must sign for you.
Clear Creek, Colorado
With an exceptional track record spanning hiking, rafting, and rock climbing adventures, this outfitter consistently delivers through their talented guide team. Names like Jared, CJ, Tanner, Jake, Boyd, and Perry come up repeatedly, each praised for their expertise, safety focus, and ability to make adventures both educational and fun. Guides go above and beyond—lending gear to unprepared clients, spotting wildlife others miss, pacing beginners on their first 14ers, and tailoring rock climbing routes for mixed-ability families. The company shines at accommodating last-minute bookings and changes, with several reviewers noting same-day arrangements and flexible trip modifications. Whether you're tackling Quandary Peak for the first time or navigating Colorado River rapids with kids, guides strike that perfect balance of knowledgeable and laid-back. They share historical facts and trail tips while keeping the mood light and engaging. Multiple families specifically mentioned feeling safe with young children along, and first-time high-altitude hikers credited their guides with getting them safely to summits they might have otherwise turned back from.
I had a fantastic half-day rock climbing experience with Perry! He called me the day before to learn about my climbing background and discuss my expectations for the climb, which immediately made the experience feel personalized. Perry has a great teaching style, using demonstrations and fun reminders that made learning both effective and enjoyable. He did an excellent job progressively building my skills in a way that made me feel successful and confident throughout the climb. I especially appreciated that he gave me time to work through challenges on my own rather than stepping in too quickly, which really helped me learn and grow as a climber. Perry is professional, knowledgeable, and encouraging. I truly enjoyed climbing with him and am already looking forward to my next climb with him in September! He was also able to get some fun pictures of me so I could share the experience with my family.
