8+ hours
Private trip, guides, gear
Take on Castleton Tower with a private guide and choose a route that matches your experience. Expect a full day on the rock, a steep approach hike, and possible wait times due to congestion.
Ages 8+ only. Meetup time may change due to temperature and route conditions.
50% deposit due at reservation. 2 days prior: 100% of total due and charged. Cancel 3+ days prior: full refund. Cancel 2 days or less: 100% nonrefundable and cannot be rescheduled. Large groups (14+): 100% due 7 days prior; cancel 8+ days: full refund; 7 days or less: 100% nonrefundable.
Bring climbing shoes, a helmet, and a harness (gear is provided free of charge if needed), plus shoes for the short approach, a water bottle with water, snacks, sunblock, sunglasses, a camera, and a day pack big enough for water, snacks, and your helmet.
Your guide provides all technical equipment and ropes. Climbing shoes, a helmet, and a harness are also available free of charge if you need them.
The rock is porous and needs at least 24 hours after rain to dry, so plans may change due to weather. Your climb may be rescheduled or canceled the morning of your trip if conditions are unsafe.

Red River Adventures has built an exceptional reputation around avalanche safety education and backcountry skiing guided tours. Reviewers consistently praise their guides by name—Carl, Victoria, Sierra, Brian, John, Ryan, Garth, and Jeremy all get called out for being both highly knowledgeable and genuinely fun to spend time with. The instructors strike that rare balance of being approachable and professional while teaching critical safety skills that clients feel truly prepared to use afterward. The AIARE avalanche courses get particularly strong endorsements, with participants noting they leave with confidence and practical frameworks for route planning, terrain assessment, and decision-making in the backcountry. Several reviewers mention the instructors' ability to create a welcoming environment where questions are encouraged, and one woman specifically appreciated the all-female class option for its supportive atmosphere. Whether it's a single guided ski day or multi-day certification course, the team adapts smoothly to changing conditions and different skill levels, making the experience both educational and enjoyable for newcomers and experienced skiers alike.
