Visitors consistently rave about the up-close animal encounters here, particularly the chance to feed crocodiles, alligators, tortoises, goats, deer, and antelope. The guided tours get special praise for knowledgeable, friendly guides who really engage with kids and adults alike. Many reviewers mention doing the behind-the-scenes tour and finding it absolutely worth the extra cost. You'll need to purchase feed separately for the animals, but guests say the hands-on experience makes it worthwhile. Beyond the reptiles, expect some fun surprises like Rosie the Raccoon and interesting bird species. The overall vibe is relaxed and family-friendly, with plenty of space to explore at your own pace. Several visitors recommend arriving early enough to do a guided tour followed by self-exploration, maybe even packing a picnic to make a full day of it. A couple of reviewers noted that some areas could use minor repairs and maintenance, though they still found everything safe and enjoyable. One person mentioned the guided tour felt rushed with their particular group, so the self-guided option might suit travelers who prefer taking their time. The staff consistently earns compliments for being welcoming and happy to answer questions.
