Redfish Lake Lodge Marina
Tucked into the Sawtooth Mountains alongside one of Idaho's most stunning alpine lakes, this lodge has earned a devoted following for good reason. The setting alone is worth the trip, with crystal-clear water, dramatic mountain views, and clean beaches that guests consistently rave about. Cabins like the Fishhook are rustic but well-kept, comfortable, and full of character, dating back to 1929. The food gets serious praise too, from hearty lodge breakfasts to the outdoor food stand's fresh fish sandwiches. Staff friendliness comes up again and again across reviews, whether you're checking in, renting a boat, or grabbing dinner at the lodge restaurant. The lake boat rides to trailheads and sunset cruises are a standout highlight. One practical note: expect a true off-grid experience with no WiFi, and some guests have found the electricity situation limiting for devices like CPAP machines. The cabins are also honestly rustic, so those wanting modern amenities should adjust expectations. Reservations book up fast, especially for summer, so planning ahead is essential. September visitors in particular love the quieter pace with the same great service. For anyone craving a genuine wilderness retreat with warm hospitality and spectacular scenery, this place consistently delivers.
I had a wonderful 2 night stay here - I stayed in one of the Fishhook cabins - it was clean, rustic and inviting. The bed was very comfortable, the bathroom had plenty of towels and other amenities and I enjoyed a nice fire in the stove both nights while reading on the couch. The staff was very friendly and helpful - I will definitely return. Highly recommended!
