Hawaiian Diving Adventures brings together exactly what you want in a dive operation: a crew that's both completely professional and genuinely relaxed. The instructors and dive masters here, particularly Ed, Callum, Caleb, and Paige, get consistent praise for striking that perfect balance of being safety-focused while keeping things fun and low-pressure. If you're nervous about getting certified or haven't dived in a while, multiple reviewers specifically mention how patient and reassuring the team is. People regularly spot sea turtles (sometimes losing count of how many), along with rays, eels, octopuses, and dolphins. The wreck dive on the Sea Tiger gets especially enthusiastic shout-outs. Captain D also earns appreciation for smooth boat handling, and little touches like pineapple between dives add to the welcoming atmosphere. The operation seems particularly strong for certifications, with several reviewers completing their Open Water or Advanced certifications and raving about the experience. One reviewer even extended their Hawaiian vacation just to dive more with this crew. The equipment gets good marks, though one review mentioned the boat could use some updates. There's one thoughtful critique about dive site variety when doing multiple dives in a day, with some locations feeling repetitive, but this seems like an outlier. The team apparently goes out of their way to accommodate special requests and will even run trips for just two divers when other shops might cancel. Overall, this feels like a welcoming, customer-focused operation where you're treated like ohana rather than just another tourist.
I had an amazing time with Ed as my guide and everyone else at the Hawaiian Diving Adventures team! Everyone was super friendly and very knowledgeable and made the overall experience amazing! I will definitely be diving with them again the next time im on Island!
