Guided walk, Museum visit
Explore Red Rocks on a guided morning walk through a natural amphitheater. Get to know the landscape as both a music venue and a place shaped by tectonic forces.
Experience the world’s most iconic amphitheater before the crowds arrive. From our meeting point at the flagpoles located at the Upper North parking lot we will descend the entrance ramp towards the Red Rocks Visitor's Center located at the top of the amphitheater. Following a stop at the Visitor's Center and its interactive Hall of Fame museum, we will head into the amphitheater, which is positioned between two monolithic, acoustic rocks: Creation Rock and Ship Rock. While viewing this spectacularly, stunning music venue, we will slowly walk down through the 380 steps that span it's 70 rows. As we descend towards the stage, the history of this natural wonder, the people that have celebrated it and the tectonic forces that shaped it will be shared with you by your guide. The tour will continue down the amphitheater's south ramp to the historic Red Rocks Trading Post's backyard for breathtaking panoramic photos of the park's rock formations. This awe-inspiring tour will conclude with a gentle hike on the famous Trading Post Trail finishing at 9am, perfectly timed for the Trading Post's 9am opening.
