Standing at the northwestern tip of Old San Juan, Castillo San Felipe del Morro rises six stories above the Atlantic, its limestone walls worn smooth by centuries of salt wind. The moment you step onto the open esplanade, the scale of the place becomes physical — wide green lawns stretch toward the ramparts, and the deep blue of the Caribbean fills every gap between the stone. Castillo San Felipe del Morro rewards slow exploration.
