Aloha Sails delivers exactly what travelers want from a Waikiki sailing experience: a friendly crew that genuinely cares, reasonable prices, and memorable moments on the water. The captain and staff earn consistent praise for their warmth and attentiveness, with names like DJ and Emma popping up repeatedly as standouts. Families love how welcoming they are with kids of all ages, while groups of friends rave about the high-energy vibe, music, and dancing on sunset cruises. The BYOB policy lets you bring your own drinks and snacks, and they provide coolers with ice. The experiences themselves hit all the highlights. Sunset sails often align with Friday fireworks from Hilton Village, creating a magical backdrop from the water. Snorkel trips offer ample time to swim with sea turtles and tropical fish in calm, clear spots. Several reviewers mention this was the standout activity of their entire Hawaii vacation. The intimate catamaran keeps groups small and the atmosphere relaxed. One helpful tip from multiple guests: if you're prone to motion sickness, sit up front where you can watch the horizon and consider taking Dramamine beforehand.
Fantastic time with Aloha Sails! I went out with them for a snorkeling excursion at Turtle Canyon in the ocean in Waikiki. It was a great time, perfect weather, and we saw multiple turtles. The ship is comfortable and you can sit in different places onboard depending on whether or not you're prone to motion sickness and/or want to avoid getting wet. Sit near the captain for dry, stable cruises and sit on the nets at the front of the boat to get a little splash here and there and feel the waves more. You can bring snacks and drinks (no glass) on board and really get comfortable. They provide all the snorkeling equipment or you can bring your own. I found their equipment to be just fine and I had no issues using their mask, pipe, and fins. Snorkeling around Turtle Canyon feels extremely safe with all of the different boats nearby that have dropped off snorkelers for the day. I saw lots of cool fish swimming around. The crew for the boat is trained for rescue if needed and they will look out for you in particular if you tell them you're not a great swimmer or if you have heart issues, etc. I felt very confident swimming with them watching over me. The crew is top notch, very friendly, very responsive. I would absolutely recommend this group if you want to do a fireworks cruise, snorkel excursion, or just a sunset sail. They offer lots of different options. Tip your crew--they work hard!
