Captain Jason and crew member Garrett earn consistent praise for their professionalism, knowledge, and friendly demeanor. They clearly know where the fish are and work hard to put guests on them, with many groups catching limits of halibut, rockfish, lingcod, and salmon. Beyond fishing, guests rave about the wildlife encounters—orcas, humpback whales, sea lions, puffins, and even occasional black bears. The boat Hope may be older, but reviewers appreciate its solid, stable feel and homey comfort. Details matter here, from quality fishing gear to complimentary coffee and tea throughout the trip. The Fish and Fjord combo tour gets particular attention, though expectations matter. A couple reviewers wished for more fishing time versus sightseeing, finding the balance tilted more toward glaciers and wildlife than they anticipated. Most guests loved this mix and considered it a highlight of their Alaska trip, but if you're after a hardcore fishing-only experience, clarify your priorities when booking. Families with kids consistently report great experiences, with the crew patient and engaging with younger anglers. The office staff, particularly Debbie, handles last-minute bookings and dietary needs efficiently.

Fish and Fjord Tour was lovely in September! Lucked out with awesome weather. My girlfriend and I enjoyed the tour and brought home 18 lbs of halibut fillets, as we bought hit our limit! Was funny when I thought a halibut I hooked was a stingray since they are so thin 😭🤣 Was cool to see orcas, puffins, eagle, sea lions, jellyfish, birds, an otter, and a rare sighting of a black bear fishing on a beach/stream! We enjoyed the tour and cannot wait to return again some day. Shouts out to the lovely captains Jason and Garret.
