Boat trip, onboard naturalists
Cruise Monterey Bay on an extended whale-watching trip with several naturalists on board to answer your questions and point out wildlife. Rather than full narration over the public-address system, this trip offers opportunities to learn directly from the naturalists as sightings unfold.
Tickets are nonrefundable once purchased. You'll be rescheduled or refunded if the operator cancels due to weather or unforeseen circumstances. No-shows are charged the full price.

One of the best whale watching experiences I’ve had. What really sets Blue Ocean apart is the smaller, less crowded boat and the naturalist-led experience. Our naturalist stayed with us throughout the trip, was extremely knowledgeable, and also genuinely funny. Because the boat has a limited number of passengers, there was plenty of space to move around and change viewing spots whenever whales appeared. We saw 30+ humpback whales during the trip, including different behaviors such as breaching/jumping out of the water. The highlight was a humpback that approached our boat and came within less than 10 feet of us. Being able to watch a whale that close, in the wild, was truly a once-in-a-lifetime experience. Highly recommend Blue Ocean for anyone looking for a more spacious and wildlife-focused whale watching experience.
