Know before you go
- Arrive at least 30 minutes early and check in at the white office trailer
- Ages 25+ only to rent; operators must be ages 21+ with previous boating experience
- First-time boat operators cannot be accommodated
- Bring a valid government-issued ID
- Operators born on or after January 1, 1988 need a Florida or National Association of State Boating Law Administrators-approved boater safety card unless exempt
- Additional operators must sign a waiver on arrival
- A $400 damage hold is placed on your card at check-in and releases after 24 hours if there is no damage; you are responsible for all damage costs
- Stay within the defined boating boundaries at all times
- Expect additional fuel costs if you use more than the included full tank
- Return the boat on time; late returns are charged at $100 per hour
- Leave pets, alcohol, drugs, smoking materials, SCUBA gear, fireworks, and towables behind
- Bring an appropriate fishing license if you plan to fish
- Do not touch or harass wildlife, including manatees
- Scalloping requires expert boating experience, familiarity with shallow rocky areas, and proficient swimmers in the water
Cancellation Policy
Receive a full refund with at least 24 hours' notice before your rental start time. Full refund if the operator cancels due to weather, mechanical issues, or staffing. Once your boat leaves the dock, your reservation is considered complete.
FAQs
You are exempt if you were born before January 1, 1988, hold a current United States Coast Guard captain's license, or have someone onboard who meets an exemption and can safely take control of the pontoon.
Stay within the defined boating boundaries: Kings Bay to the east, Crystal River Main Channel Red Marker 8 to the west, and Fort Island to the south.
