Ride a 1-Hour Haunted French Quarter Carriage Tour

Royal Carriages delivers what sounds like a genuinely lovely way to explore the French Quarter, with guides who clearly know their stuff and genuinely care about giving you a good time. The experience feels personal rather than scripted, with reviewers consistently mentioning how their tours felt more like chatting with a knowledgeable friend than sitting through a lecture. Names like Lucy and Marie, Kendra and Liza Jane, Marty, and Thiebaud come up repeatedly, with guests specifically requesting the same guides on return visits. People appreciate learning things about New Orleans they didn't know, even locals who thought they'd heard it all. The tours cover everything from architecture and historical events to ghost stories and local lore, and the mules and horses themselves get plenty of love too, with several posing for photos at the end. There's really only one minor complaint worth noting: one reviewer mentioned their guide's speaker was uncomfortably loud in the small carriage space, causing headaches by tour's end. That aside, the sentiment is overwhelmingly positive. Families enjoyed it, couples found it romantic, and even seasoned New Orleans visitors say they learned something new. The relaxed pace seems perfect for taking in the city, and the guides' ability to answer questions and expand on topics shows real depth of knowledge. Whether you're after history, haunted tales, or just a pleasant way to see the French Quarter without walking, this seems like a solid choice that consistently delivers on the experience.
