Paddle Kawela Bay on a small-group stand up paddleboard tour
1.5 Hours
SUP gear, guide, reef shoes
Explore Kawela Bay on a relaxing, informative stand up paddleboard (SUP) tour with a small group. Learn SUP skills as you paddle along the coastline and look for Hawaii Green Sea Turtles (Honu) in their natural habitat.
Guests must be at least 12 years old to join a public group lesson. If you are prone to motion or seasickness, stand up paddling may trigger symptoms.
Full refund or credit with 48 hours notice of cancellation. Full refund or credit if the operator cancels due to weather or other unforeseen circumstances. No-shows will be charged the full price.
Wear your swimsuit and bring a towel and sunscreen. Your experience includes the needed equipment, including a SUP board, rash guard, and reef shoes.
Stand up paddling and other ocean activities can trigger motion or seasickness symptoms. Many guests limit symptoms by taking their preferred motion sickness medication about 30 minutes before their experience.
Arrive sober. If you are visibly inebriated or suspected of being under the influence of drugs or alcohol, you may be denied service and asked to reschedule for safety reasons.
The instructors here are consistently praised for being patient, knowledgeable, and genuinely excited about teaching surfing. Names like Fletcher, Chris, Dane, Scottie, and Haven come up repeatedly, with families especially appreciating how naturally the team works with kids of all ages. First-timers report standing up on their first attempts thanks to concise beach tutorials that translate immediately to success in the water. The vibe is professional yet fun, with instructors sharing stories and local knowledge that adds to the experience. The location at Turtle Bay offers ideal beginner conditions, and instructors adapt to wave conditions by taking groups to alternate spots when needed. Professional photography packages receive enthusiastic recommendations, with guests loving the angles and memories captured. The one notable complaint involves surfboard rentals, where availability was inconsistent and pricing seemed steep for the condition of equipment. If you're coming for lessons though, particularly as a family or first-timer, you'll find an operation that delivers exactly what it promises with genuine aloha spirit.
We had so much fun in our surfing lesson with Shadi and Dane. It was four of us and three of our first time out there. Thanks to the careful instruction we caught the first wave each! And continued to have an awesome time the whole time. Mahalo Shadi and Dane!!
