The sanctuary is about 4 miles down a gravel road that can be bumpy when dry and slippery when wet. Drive at reduced speeds in wet conditions.
Wear work clothes that can get very dirty and dress for the season and temperature changes throughout the day. Bring work gloves and wear hiking or work boots for uneven terrain; waterproof or water-resistant footwear is recommended for snow and mud.
Bring lunch, a refillable water bottle, sunglasses, and any necessary medications. In warm weather, pack sunscreen, bug spray, a sunhat, and rain gear. In cold weather, bring a jacket, gloves or mittens, a warm hat, and snow boots.
