    Know before you go

    • Ages 6+ only; ages 6–17 must be accompanied by an adult
    • Moderately strenuous trip requiring long-distance paddling on lakes and rivers, sometimes against wind or current
    • Requires meeting the American Canoe Association Essential Eligibility Criteria for paddling activities
    • Bring and wear non-cotton layers, quick-drying clothing, a fleece, rain and wind layers, a hat, and quick-drying wet shoes
    • Cold-water immersion is possible; wetsuits are available upon advance request and may be required in extreme conditions
    • Sign a liability waiver before participating
    • A credit card on file is required for equipment-related charges, including loss, damage, significant cleaning, or late return fees
    • An optional round-trip Anchorage shuttle is not included in the listed price and costs $175 per group

    Cancellation Policy

    Cancel before 5 PM the day before departure for a full refund minus credit card processing fees. Cancellations after 5 PM the day before and no-shows are nonrefundable. The operator may modify, postpone, or cancel for weather; if the trip cannot proceed safely, you'll be offered rescheduling or a full refund.

    This Knik River paddling trip requires long-distance paddling and meeting the American Canoe Association's Essential Eligibility Criteria, including maintaining your airway, floating face-up in a life jacket, entering and exiting a paddlecraft, and recovering from a capsize independently or with permitted companion assistance.

    Wear a non-cotton base layer, quick-drying shirt and pants, a fleece, rain and wind layers, a hat with a drawstring or beanie, and shoes that can get wet and dry quickly. Avoid flip-flops.

    Cold-water immersion is possible. Wetsuits are available upon advance request, and guides may require an exposure suit in extreme weather, high winds, or particularly cold conditions.
