- This climb rises above 14,000 feet and has a reported 50% failure rate due to exhaustion and elevation sickness
- Requires hiking boots or supportive shoes; open-toe sandals aren't allowed
- Bring 3 L of water in a bottle holding at least 32 oz, plus sunglasses, jacket, hat, long-sleeve shirt, pants, trekking poles, sunscreen, camera equipment, and personal medications if needed
- Denim isn't allowed
- Guides assess changing mountain weather conditions and determine whether conditions are safe
