15-Minute Mermaid Meet & Greet in Avalon

Enjoy an indoor, family-friendly mermaid encounter with time for photos and a souvenir to take home. Add the Mermaid Pearl Experience for an oyster-opening activity and a genuine pearl.

Itinerary

1. Check-In at the Catalina Island Mermaids Store Arrive at your scheduled time and check in at the front counter. Our friendly staff will guide you into the grotto when it’s your group’s turn.

2. Enter the Mermaid Grotto Step into our magical underwater-themed grotto and meet a real Catalina Mermaid! Feel free to ask questions, say hello, and enjoy the magic.

3. Pose for Photos Strike a pose with the mermaid! Our team will take a souvenir 4x6 printed photo for you to take home. You’re also welcome to take your own photos with your phone for social media—tag us @CatalinaIslandMermaids!

4. Receive a Treasure from the Mermaid’s Chest Each guest will receive a special treasure from the ocean to take home as a keepsake.

5. Optional Add-On: Mermaid Pearl Experience If you added this upgrade, you’ll open a real oyster with the mermaid, discover your pearl, and choose a keepsake necklace to hold it—something you’ll cherish forever.

6. Shop & Explore (Optional) After your experience, you’re welcome to browse our mermaid shop, filled with tails, shells, ocean treasures, and unique gifts to remember your visit.

• Arrive at least 5 minutes before your scheduled time; late arrivals may need to wait for the next available time slot
• Children under 12 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian
• A ticket is required for every person entering the grotto, regardless of age
• Children under 12 need parental supervision when handling an oyster during the Mermaid Pearl Experience add-on
