Travelers consistently rave about the knowledgeable guides and captains who bring Maine's coastline to life. The crew, including guides like Betty, Bob, and various park rangers, earn special praise for their expertise in local history, wildlife spotting, and geological formations. Captains are noted for their thoughtfulness, like turning the boat multiple times so everyone can photograph the lighthouse. The tours run smoothly even in less-than-perfect weather, with reasonable pricing and the bonus of being dog-friendly. The cruise includes a stop at Little Cranberry Island that gives you time to explore galleries, visit museums, or simply stretch your legs. Expect to see seals, bald eagles, osprey, and various seabirds along the way, plus stunning views of Bear Island Lighthouse and summer cottages tucked into fjord-like inlets. Multiple reviewers mention this provides perspectives of Acadia you simply can't get from land. There's ample parking available, and the experience works well for families and those with mobility concerns alike.
Great quiet side of island location! Free parking, restrooms close and outstanding customer service. Cruise was reasonably priced for family and we saw seals, lighthouse, 45 minutes on Little Cranberry (Isleford Island), lots birds too. Maureen was great tour narrator and former Acadia Park ranger. She gave us lots of history info and even helped us find sea glass along the shore. This cruise was cheaper than ones leaving from Bar Harbor but we felt like it let us see and experience so much. We will be back for their other cruises!!
