FreeWheelin' delivers an outstanding cycling experience in New Orleans, with knowledgeable staff like Ryan and Teddy earning consistent praise for their enthusiasm and local expertise. The electric bikes are well-maintained, fast, and perfect for covering serious ground around the city. Whether you're joining a guided tour or renting for self-guided exploration, you'll get thorough instructions, helpful route suggestions, and quality equipment including helmets and locks. The French Quarter location makes pickup convenient, and the after-hours return system works smoothly. Tour guide Teddy gets mixed feedback on his presentation style. Most travelers love his storytelling and deep knowledge of New Orleans neighborhoods and history, finding him passionate and engaging even in pouring rain. However, a few reviewers noted he speaks very quickly, which can be challenging for non-native English speakers or those trying to catch every detail. Two visitors reported uncomfortable political commentary during their interactions, so be aware that conversation may occasionally veer into personal territory beyond standard tour content.
We went on a bike tour with FreeWheelin' on our first ever trip to New Orleans a few years ago. We ended up renting bikes from them as well. They were all around so awesome that we went back to them this past trip and rented a golf cart. It was AMAZING. Great tours and great people, Teddy is the best. Highly recommend.
