Oak Alley or Laura Plantation Tour from New Orleans

Southern Style Tours runs solid city tours around New Orleans, with most visitors coming away impressed. The standout here is definitely the tour guides, particularly Gary K. and Joseph, who get mentioned again and again for being genuinely knowledgeable about the city's history, architecture, Hurricane Katrina's impact, and local hotspots. People appreciate that these guides aren't just reciting scripts. They answer questions on the fly, share personal recommendations for restaurants, and even send follow-up texts with helpful links and dining suggestions. The 3-hour city tour seems to be the main offering, and it includes hotel pickup, a stop at Cafe Du Monde, and a comprehensive look at New Orleans beyond what most first-time visitors would find on their own. The buses are reportedly clean and air-conditioned, which matters when you're touring in Louisiana heat. That said, there are a few hiccups worth noting. A couple of reviews mention serious concerns: one person claims they witnessed a company bus running a red light, while another felt their tour didn't match the description and that refunds were refused. There's also a pickup mishap where the driver initially skipped passengers who were supposedly on the list. These issues seem inconsistent with the overall experience most people report, but they're worth keeping in mind. If you're looking for a structured introduction to New Orleans with guides who really know their stuff, this tour delivers for most travelers. Just maybe confirm your pickup details ahead of time and set clear expectations about what's included.
