The staff here consistently gets glowing praise, with Rachel (or Racheal) mentioned by name multiple times for being friendly, helpful, and great at explaining safety tips and equipment usage. Brandon also earns recognition for being professional and personable. Customers love how stress-free the rental process is, from easy booking to straightforward pickup. The equipment is well-maintained, and the location at Sandy Hook offers a beautiful, chill setting for paddling. The overall vibe is enthusiastic and positive. People genuinely seem to have a blast on the water, and several reviewers mention they can't wait to return. The staff clearly makes an effort to ensure everyone feels comfortable and prepared before heading out, which creates a welcoming atmosphere for both beginners and experienced paddlers alike. Just remember it's a state park with federal regulations, so keep that in mind when planning your visit.
Love the experience ! You can easily book this online. Definitely worth taking the family or a date - prices aren’t super steep either. They charged $90 for (2) double-person Kayaks for an hour. They outline pretty decent boundaries with buoys and give you basic tips to make the most out of your experience. Easy for first timers. However, due it being a recreational park the park charges you about $20 to park for the day. The good thing is that you can also access the beach before or after you kayak and make a whole day trip out of it, complete with a picnic. If you really want to out do yourself - the Twinslight lighthouse is across the bridge and you can climb the top of the tower.
