Local guide, History and highlights
Step back in time on a guided walk through Old Louisville, one of the largest historic preservation districts in the United States. Hear stories of bourbon barons, racetrack royalty, and tobacco titans as you admire grand Victorian homes and Olmsted-designed Central Park.
Tour takes place entirely outdoors; no interior access to homes. Not suitable for those who require walking aids or cannot keep pace. Dogs are welcome; this tour runs rain or shine.
Is there parking nearby?
Yes, generally there is ample free street parking. Larger vehicles can park a block away on Park Avenue between Fourth and Sixth streets.
Is the neighborhood safe?
Generally yes, but it is a big-city, transitional area near downtown; use common sense and do not leave belongings visible in vehicles. Walking from downtown is not recommended; rideshare options are easy.
May I bring along my dog?
Yes, friendly dogs are welcome.
Do we enter any of the houses?
No, most are private residences, so the tour is entirely outdoors. Some hidden areas such as Floral Terrace are included.
This tour is non-refundable and runs rain or shine. With enough advance notice and subject to availability, you may be rescheduled. If the operator cancels due to inclement weather or other reasons, you may reschedule or receive a refund.
