Explore the flavors of Maine oysters during an intimate tasting hosted by oyster sommelier and author Virginia. Hear stories and readings from Oyster Society as you compare regional flavors with paired wines.
Welcome (15 minutes) Meet your host and fellow guests with a welcome wine. Receive your signed book (if elected), tasting journal, and oyster flavor wheel. Introduction to the evening and the inspiration behind the book.
Chapter One (20 minutes)
First oyster flight paired with our first wine. Discover how geography, tides, and salinity shape flavor. Short reading that aligns with our first oyster.
Chapter Two (20 minutes)
Second oyster flight and wine pairing. Stories behind merroir and terroir. A short reading from the book on an exciting chapter set in Maine.
Chapter Three (25 minutes)
Final oyster flight with its wine pairing. Behind-the-scenes insights from writing the book. Conversation and questions about the book and its contents.
Closing (10 minutes)
Book signing and personalized inscriptions (if desired). Time for conversation, and shopping additional signed copies for friends and family.
Cancel at least 7 days in advance for a deposit refund. Cancellations within 7 days forfeit the total ticket price plus a 15% service fee.
Bring a valid photo ID. Sunglasses or a hat and a light jacket are optional.
Choose the signed-book add-on. Book signing and personalized inscriptions are available during the closing portion of the evening.
