Experienced sailors and first-timers alike consistently rave about this Key West charter company, and it's easy to see why. Captains Patrick, Justin, Brian, and Jordy come up repeatedly by name, with guests noting how the crew adapts to each group's energy, whether that means snorkeling at the reef, anchoring at a sandbar, or just soaking up the day on the water. The boats are well-maintained and the booking process is smooth, with Jennifer and the shore team earning particular praise for their communication and flexibility. For those looking to build sailing skills, the ASA certification program is a genuine highlight. Instructors Andrew and Justin are described as knowledgeable and encouraging, with multiple guests completing several certifications over a week-long liveaboard experience aboard boats like the Mali Havana. The Stock Island Marina location adds a nice bonus, with access to Perry Hotel amenities and a free shuttle into town. With a near-perfect rating across a large number of reviews, this operation has clearly built something reliable. Groups celebrating bachelorettes, weddings, and birthdays keep coming back and sending friends, which says a lot about the consistency of the experience.
Just spent an amazing 10 days onboard the Mali Havana learning how to sail through Sail Away's ASA program. Our instructor, Andrew was thoughtful and thorough, and he really helped us understand everything and feel comfortable at the helm with his teaching. Greg took care of our check-in and was friendly and responsive to anything we needed while we were onboard. I can't reccomend Sail Away Key West enough!
