At Pete's Pier Marina, the smell of salt air and sunscreen greets you before you even reach the dock. Crystal River's calm, spring-fed waters stretch out ahead, and the steady hum of boat engines signals that another day on the water is already underway. Whether you're stepping aboard a kayak or heading out on a charter, Pete's Pier Marina puts you right at the edge of one of Florida's most ecologically rich waterways, where manatees drift beneath the surface and ospreys circle overhead.
Nature's Discovery consistently delivers outstanding manatee encounters with a crew that clearly loves what they do. Guides like Caleb, Jake, Taylor, and Jaden earn repeated praise for their extensive wildlife knowledge and genuine enthusiasm. Captains Evan and John expertly locate manatees quickly, often within minutes, then stay in the water alongside guests to ensure close, respectful interactions. Multiple families mention how patient the staff is with children and grandparents alike, making this accessible for all ages. The experience goes beyond just spotting manatees. Guests frequently see mothers with calves, and guides actively track the animals in the water to maximize viewing time while maintaining proper behavior around these protected creatures. Tours often include stops at refreshing natural springs and sightings of eagles and ospreys. The crew captures plenty of photos and sends them promptly after each trip. Even when groups book during off-season or end up as the only passengers, the team maintains the same high-energy, personalized service that makes people feel like they're exploring with friends rather than on a commercial tour.
It was amazing. Me and my family did the manatee tour and we saw a good amount even though it's off season! Trent was super nice and knowledgeable about manatees and the boat captain Jake was very nice, we had some nice conversations and laughs together. If you're looking for somewhere to do a manatee tour with, I recommend them!
