This family-run operation on the Russian River has clearly figured out how to make paddling trips feel effortless. The staff gets consistent praise for being genuinely friendly and helpful, and owner Kim stands out in reviews for going above and beyond. People appreciate the thoughtful touches like complimentary dry bags, coolers, and sunglasses straps. The shuttle system runs smoothly, equipment is well-maintained, and staff position themselves at tricky river spots to help paddlers navigate safely. One reviewer mentioned a scary moment when a jacket got caught, but Liam and his team were right there to help, which really reinforced how seriously they take safety. The 5-mile route takes around 2-2.5 hours of active paddling, so don't expect a lazy float. Several paddlers mentioned needing to work harder than anticipated since much of the river requires steady paddling, especially when wind picks up. The scenery delivers though, with peaceful stretches shaded by trees, opportunities to stop at little islands for picnics, and wildlife sightings including herons and fish. The experience works well for beginners who mention their concerns upfront, and the overall vibe is relaxed and accommodating. Book ahead, bring sunscreen and water, and you're set for a memorable day.
Decided to break away to get a day on the Russian River. We elected to rent boats from River's Edge. AMAZING! The team at River's edge is fantastic, friendly and knowledgeable. They had complimentary gator straps for your sunglasses, and other swag to help you enjoy your day on the river. The gear was all in great shape. They shuttle you up-stream for a leisurely float down. Great spots to stop for a picnic and swimming along the way down. Beautiful trip down the river. Kim, the owner of this small family business is Wonder Woman. Super accommodating. Definitely going back. I would suggest you do the same before they close for the season(s). I wish I could give more stars.
