Set sail on the traditional schooner FAME across Salem Sound. Raise the sails or relax as the crew shares maritime history while routes vary with wind and weather.
Ages 5+ only; infants, toddlers, and strollers are not allowed. Not ADA or wheelchair accessible; boarding involves steps. No coolers or outside alcohol; service dogs only with paperwork.
Where are you located?
FAME is located right in downtown Salem at Pickering Wharf Marina on Wharf Street. Please check in at our ticket booth next to FINZ 15 minutes before departure.
Who can sail?
Anyone five or over; infants, toddlers, and strollers are not allowed. The schooner is not ADA compliant or wheelchair accessible; boarding involves steps.
Do you have drinks and snacks on board?
Yes. Beer, wine, soft drinks, some mixed drinks, and snacks are available for purchase. You may bring your own snacks, but no coolers or BYOB.
What should I bring?
Wear sensible flat shoes. Bring sunscreen, a hat, and sunglasses, and consider a jacket or sweatshirt as it is cooler on the water.
What if it rains?
Sails may be canceled for steady rain, thick fog, or high winds. If canceled, you may rebook or receive a full refund.
Can we book a private sail?
Yes, private charters are available.
Full refund if you cancel at least 24 hours before departure. Full refund if the operator cancels due to weather or other circumstances. No-shows do not receive refunds.

We were so lucky to have great weather in Salem MA this past weekend. Someone told us we could get away from the crowds and spend time relaxing by the harbor. Sailing the water on Fame was so much fun!! The crew were amazing and informative with stories. They serve drinks too. You may even get to raise the sails or fire the cannon they have on board!!
