Paddle Salem’s coastline with flexible hourly or daily rentals and friendly on-site support
1–8 hrs
Paddleboard, Paddle, PFD
Rent a stand-up paddleboard from our Salem Willows Park kiosk and explore the coastline at your own pace. Friendly staff outfit you with gear, provide basic tips, and help you launch so you can relax and paddle.
Arrive 5–10 minutes early for check-in and setup. Weather and water conditions can change quickly; rentals may be canceled or shortened if unsafe.
What should I wear?
Anything you are comfortable potentially getting wet, such as a swimsuit, board shorts, or activewear like shorts and a t-shirt.
Should I wear shoes?
Most people go barefoot on the board. Wear flip-flops or water shoes to protect your feet when walking over rocks or shells.
What else do I need to bring with me?
Bring water and sunscreen, and a snack for longer rentals. Keep a towel in your car for when you're done. Avoid bringing items you wouldn't want to lose or get wet; you may leave belongings with staff at the kiosk.
Where should we meet?
The Salem kiosk is in Salem Willows Park, 167 Fort Ave in Salem. From parking near the arcades, walk toward the long wooden pier; the kiosk is on the left just before the pier.
Cancel at least 24 hours before your reservation to avoid charges. Cancellations within 24 hours are charged in full. If the operator cancels due to unsafe weather or wind conditions, you will receive a refund.

Coast to Coast Paddle earns consistent praise for its exceptionally friendly and accommodating approach to kayaking. Aaron, who appears to be the owner, stands out for his patient instruction and genuine passion for the sport. Multiple reviewers mention feeling nervous or skeptical at first, only to leave feeling confident and excited to get back on the water. He's known for going above and beyond, from offering his personal kayak to beginners needing specific equipment, to tethering struggling paddlers and keeping a close eye on weather conditions for safety. The location on Salem Bay provides gorgeous views, and the operation runs smoothly with equipment ready to go and secure storage for valuables. Both guided tours and lessons receive enthusiastic feedback, with first-timers particularly appreciating the clear land-based instruction before hitting the water. The staff knows how to balance professionalism with a relaxed, fun atmosphere that works well for couples, tourists, and anyone looking to learn proper kayaking technique. Regulars keep coming back season after season, which speaks volumes about the quality of the experience.
Great place to rent a kayak; really nice people! Prior to my trip i had contacted them asking if i could get a sit inside kayak. Aaron (owner?) offer to lend me his own kayak! That’s going above and beyond, if you ask me. Most places would just say no, or ignore the email. Made the trip all that more enjoyable! Thanks guys!
